Are you spending too much time \u201coptimizing\u201d your programs? As Knuth famously said \u201cpremature optimization is the root of all evil\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Conversely, are your programs actually too slow?\u00a0 I once has a customer whose daily billing started to take 26 hours. Can you imagine what their CFO said?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One classic answer is to set a budget for how fast a program must be, and then measure in dev, in CI\/CD and in production, to be sure it\u2019s doing its job.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s what this talk is about.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
